Atomos updates Ninja V, Ninja V+ and AtomoX Cast

Although the Atomos Ninja V+ was introduced, Atomos is eager to prove that the Atomos Ninja V is still valid and has provided an update for both screen recorders to expand the raw video recording capability.

The Ninja V+ has the same form factor and accessory compatibility as the Ninja V but with much more processing power.

Ninja V and Ninja V + AtomOS 10.71 Update

With the latest update, the Ninja V+ Pro-Kit (or Ninja V+ with an AtomX SDI module and SDI RAW activation) will support ProRes RAW recording from Sony FS5, FS5MKII, FS700, and FS700r with continuous output directly from the sensor up to 2K 240fps, and 4K 60fps and 4K 120fps for 4 seconds.

It is also possible to output 4K 60fps Raw and 2K Raw up to 240fps from a Sony FS7 or FS7MKII with the addition of the XDCA-FS7 module.

Additionally, the Canon EOS R5 can output up to 5K raw to an Atomos Ninja V or 8K raw to a Ninja V+.

Meanwhile, Panasonic Lumix BS1H users can use the Ninja V or Ninja V+ to record 5.9K 30 fps, 4.1K 60 fps, or 3.5K 50 fps.

Update AtomX Cast

Atomos has also announced an update to its modular adapter extension for Ninja V and now Ninja V+.

In addition to adding compatibility with Ninja V+, the update adds image overlays, Picture-in-Picture (PiP) recording, and rollbacks to the black/white transition. This offers the ability to both record clean program feeds or record with TX and PiP graphics and transfers directly to an SSD, which is useful for creating fast live productions.

Other updates include cross-input support, audio delay option, and bug fixes.

Atomos promises some great deals around Black Friday, see below for the latest prices.
