Kim Kardashian and others chartered a plane to help Afghan women

That’s how you do it! Kim Kardashian is always using her platform to make a difference. She recently used her influence to support Julius Jones, who has been fighting for the commutation of his death sentence by the Governor of Oklahoma State. Julius is alive and has now been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. However, this is not the only reason why Kim put her energy towards him. According to ESPN on Thursday, Kim, the rabbi of New York and Premier League club Leeds United, and other members of the Afghan women’s soccer development team helped return to safety after being evacuated home.

Young women and their families who were left behind by women playing sports are seen as a political challenge to the Taliban. Reports said hundreds of female athletes have left Afghanistan since the group’s return to power and began to limit women’s education and freedom. Kim and her team chartered a plane carrying more than 30 teenage players and their families.

About 130 people landed safely in Britain at Stansted Airport near London. Players will spend ten days in COVID-19 quarantine before starting a new life in Britain. Khaleda Popal, the former captain of the Afghan women’s team who led the math evacuation effort, spoke of the rescue and is thrilled with the happiness and relief that the girls and their families are out of danger.

Many of these families left their homes when the Taliban seized power. Some of their family members were killed or captured by the Taliban. So the danger and pressure was so high, that’s why it was so important to move quickly to get them out of Afghanistan,” Bhopal told The Associated Press.

Kim shared a video online of the girls celebrating and thanked everyone who took part in the effort through several Instagram story posts. Kim always excels at those in need. We love to see her!
