Nikon launches the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8: A review of digital photography

Nikon has officially released the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 lens – a non-“SE” version of the lens we’ve been fans of for a while. Literally the only differences between this version and the previously released “SE” are the cosmetics. The new lens is housed in a matte black plastic barrel that is quieter, unlike the old ‘SE’ model.

The glass is the same, which means we expect the same excellent overall performance from a lens that should pair very well with the recently released Z 40mm F2. The Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 will be available next month for $299.95. Check out our sample gallery of the visually identical “SE” version below.
