Photography Life Hiring! Life Photography

I am happy to announce that Photography Life is hiring part- and full-time writers to join our growing team! All details and application form are listed below.

Job title

Every week, the writers at Photography Life work hard to publish the best photography content online. To continue improving and publishing our articles more frequently, we want to expand our team of skilled writers and photographers.

If you love to write and take pictures, this is an opportunity to earn money for it. You can work remotely from anywhere in the world, whether you’re in the comfort of your home or from the road on a long photography trip. We offer competitive wages, flexible working hours, and a high degree of creative control.

As you know, Photography Life articles cover a variety of topics: gear ads, tutorials, reviews, creative articles, etc. We will customize your assignments according to the types of articles you prefer to write, and you are also free to come up with themes yourself. In general, we expect you to illustrate these articles using your own photos.

When you’re part of the team, Spencer and I will be available to answer any questions you have about writing at Photography Life. We’ll edit your work before publishing to ensure it meets our high standards. All you have to do is bring your best writing and photos; We will coach you in everything else.

requirements

Applicants for this job can shoot any type of photography and use any brand or type of camera. You can also apply from anywhere in the world.

We have two requirements: you must be able to commit to writing multiple articles per month, and you must be 18 years or older (or soon 18).

Please include the following information when submitting your application:

  • A short biography or autobiography about your photography
  • A sample of your best writing
  • Link to your photo portfolio

For the writing sample, we prefer reading a photography related article that you have already posted online, whether in a personal blog or elsewhere. If you do not have any work published, please write a high quality photography-related article of at least 500 words and include it in your application.

The application period is anytime within the next two weeks, ending November 30 at midnight ET. There is no point in rushing your introduction. I recommend taking your time and making sure that the application reflects the high quality of your work.

Pay attention to grammar, brevity, readability, and technical accuracy in your submission. Audio writers are welcome even in a technical article, you don’t need to shed your personality.

Application form

Please use the Submit Content form to submit the above information. Please make sure to put everything in one ZIP file when submitting your form, so we can get all of the files with one submission.

If we haven’t given you a yes or no by December 7th, please write to us again. We anticipate a ton of apps and we don’t want anyone to miss an accident. There may be a second round of applications or interviews if we want to narrow it down further.

Spencer and I will email applicants who pass the first round to discuss the hours/articles you can commit, the hiring structure that suits you, and our detailed pay rates.

Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or want clarification on the app. Good luck, and I look forward to meeting future members of the Photography Life team!
