home deals

Google Nest Mini

We love the second generation Nest Mini and it’s discounted a lot. It sounds better than the previous version, and it won’t take up much space in your home. This is one of the most affordable ways to get into a smart home. You can ask the Google Assistant anything you search on Google, and have it control smart lights, a robot vacuum, and smart air conditioning, among other devices.

Even with the cuts, that price is annoying, but we really liked using Tempo Studio (8/10, WIRED Recomends). This version includes an accessory package with wireless heart rate monitor, recovery spool, two extra collars, and 25 pounds of stainless steel and chrome. If you just need the basics, you can get it straight from Tempo’s website for $1,995. You’ll need to pay an extra $39 per month for a subscription, but if you’re paying more for a monthly gym membership and you’re not satisfied with it, you might like this better and you could even save money over time.

Philips One by Sonicare

This is one of our favorite electric toothbrushes. It’s not the strongest available, but it’s thin and light, and delivers a gentle vibration to aid cleansing. This is the rechargeable version, but the AAA battery-powered version is also on sale for $15 ($10 off).

Not everyone is a fan of Keurigs, and if you’re a really avid coffee aficionado, it’s worth upgrading to something else. However, sometimes you just need one quick cup, and that’s where Keurig works. This one is very compact, so it won’t take up much space on the counter, and it has a very nice design by Jonathan Adler. It goes on sale frequently, but $50 is the lowest price we’ve seen.

The Arlo Pro 4 is our favorite outdoor camera (which you can use indoors too!). This bundle comes with three cameras, four rechargeable batteries, a charging station, “anti-theft” mounts, and a yard sign. It has a wide field of view of 160 degrees and records up to 2K resolution with HDR. But, as we note in our review, you’ll need the Arlo Secure plan ($3 per month for one camera) to get the most out of this camera’s features.

Lenovo Smart Watch

Photo: Lenovo

We love this smart bedside display because it’s compact without being unusable. Its 4-inch screen is probably too small for comfortably watching movies, but it’s a great digital photo frame and a great way to see weather updates, alarms, and results from Google Assistant search queries. There is also a USB port so you can plug your phone directly into it to recharge. If you don’t need a touchscreen but want the smart capabilities, go with the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential for $30 ($20 off). It even has a night light on the back.

Aura makes our favorite photo frames. It’s pricey, and this deal isn’t the best we’ve ever seen. However, they are easy to use and the images look almost symmetrical. It makes a great gift.

Running Deals

Roku Streaming Stick 4K

Photo: Best Buy

We love all Roku devices, especially Streaming Sticks and this is one of the latest releases. It doesn’t have hands-free audio or programmable shortcuts on the remote the way the new 4K Plus version does, but it still has a microphone button that you can use.

If you are a fan of Amazon Prime Video shows, you may prefer this streaming device, which is highly geared towards all Amazon content. This is the latest 4K device from the brand, which we haven’t tried yet, but we liked the older version and it hasn’t changed drastically.

Do you need a new TV? This device has Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant built in, so you can ask them to search for shows or answer any other questions you might have. Even with the smart features, we think most TVs need a dedicated streaming stick like the ones mentioned above. We’ve rounded up more TV shows here.

This TV is usually just under the $1,200 price listed on Best Buy, but that’s still a solid discount. We’re big fans of Sony’s A90J, which unfortunately isn’t on sale right now, but that’s usually a lot cheaper — the X90J is an LED TV, while the A90J is an OLED. However, you can get a nice looking TV without paying close to $3000. Larger sizes are discounted as well.

headphone deals

Jabra Elite 85 T

These earbuds (9/10, WIRED Rec recommended) are expensive, but they have excellent sound quality and noise cancellation. The best part about Jabra headphones is that they are durable, have a two-year warranty against water damage, and have physical buttons to control music playback. Jabra is also doing a great job supporting its older devices with new features and updates.

These cute little headphones 2 (9/10, WIRED recommends) are comfortable to wear and look great with dual playback. It’s IPX2 rated for water resistance, so you can practice with it. Plus they come in lavender or olive (plus the standard black and white)!

The Galaxy Buds Pro (9/10, WIRED recommendations) are good for everything, and they’re better than Apple’s AirPods in almost every respect: they look better, are more comfortable, and have a longer battery life. It can go from Zoom meetings to listening to music on the run, and these earbuds work just fine every time, says Parker Hall, WIRED Reviews Editor. They are now $20 less than they were when this deal started.

This is $15 more than it was last week when the sale started. We haven’t tested it, but we like the brand in general. These JBL Tour One headphones are also on sale for $250 ($50 off). Read our guide to the best wireless headphones for more options.

Storage Deals (HDDs and SSDs)

Samsung T7 500GB Portable SSD

Photo: Samsung

This is one of our favorite flash drives due to its speed. It’s light yet durable, thanks to its metal construction, so you can take it anywhere and not worry about it getting damaged. It was under $5 last week, but that’s still a good deal if you’re in the market for a fast SSD.

We haven’t tried Samsung’s internal SSD, but the brand is known to offer some of the best, and this product gets solid reviews elsewhere. If you need your computer to run faster, this should help you. If you need more gigabytes, other sizes will also be deducted.

This Easystore drive is basically the same as the Elements drive we recommend in our guide, but this drive doesn’t have a power button. They’re suitable for backup and storage, but senior WIRED writer Scott Gilbertson doesn’t recommend them for video editing or anything else where speed is essential. Just know that while it sometimes jumps to $110, it usually comes out to about $60. For even more storage, the 18 TB hard drive drops to $340 ($80).

Phone and Tablet Deals

OnePlus 8T

Photo: OnePlus

This is the 2020 iPad Pro model with 256GB of storage. You can get a 2021 iPad Pro for an extra $100, but this one starts with 128GB. You are not missing very Lots of newer model, so this is still a solid deal if you need the extra space. If you need more storage, the 4th generation iPad Pro’s 512GB drops to $1,100 ($200) and the 1TB version is $1,300 ($200).

We really liked using this cell phone, and even though OnePlus has raised their very reasonable prices, this is still a solid deal. The 8T has a great quad camera system and an all-day battery. If you’re in desperate need of a phone, you’ll probably be happy with this, but we saw more discounted phones last week, and hopefully you’ll be back.

Laptops and Monitors Offers

Acer Chromebook Spin 713.

Photography: Acer

You’ll find this Acer Chromebook in our Best Chromebooks guide. It has one of the nicest screens on a Chromebook at this price, and the Intel Core i5 chip gives it plenty of power. It’s 2-in-1 too, so you can rotate the entire screen back and use it as a tablet. The best part? It has a great battery life.

Want to spend less? We haven’t tested the Spin 514 yet, but we You have The hardware has been tested with AMD’s Ryzen 3 processors, so we feel comfortable saying this Chromebook will suffice for school-wide tasks. You also get a 1080p display and a MicroSD card slot.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Go

Image: Microsoft

That’s what the 64GB version usually costs, so you can get twice the storage for the same price. We like the other surfaces more, but the Go is great, as you might imagine with the name, that you can take it with you wherever you want because it’s light and compact. But the screen resolution is where you’ll notice the budget – text can look a bit choppy.

We prefer the newer Flex 5i, but the 5 is still solid if you want to save a few bucks. You can use it as a tablet or laptop as you wish. It’s powered by an Intel Pentium 7505 processor, and you should get up to 10 hours of battery life.

If you need a monitor to enhance your gaming (or work-from-home) setup, this is a pretty solid bargain on a screen of this size. It also supports HDR, something we don’t usually see at this price point.
