Weekly Info – Chuck Windig: Terribleminds

Not much will happen this week in the lead up to the holidays, so I’ll keep this update brief –

Invasive costs $1.99 for your e-book machine today. Not sure how long it takes. But if you want a novel where people are attacked by meat farm ants, boy, do I have the book for you. Ants is a metaphor for anxiety! But they’re also real ants, so.

A reminder that the accident book is up to Goodreads to choose in awe.

Watch the first episode of wheel of time And I love her a bunch. The cast is wonderful. It was bloodier than I expected – lots of guts scattered around the Trollocs and it exploded. I read most of the soap operas as a kid – from high school to college. He met Robert Jordan at a signing party once (he had this awesome goat crew strongly suggesting that he was or was a wizard). You made use of… Book Nine, I think. The books seemed to get longer while the time period the books included was shorter, and it felt like a heavy burden. I heard Sanderson (unsurprisingly) suspended the landing. I would go back and re-read but holy crap, where do you find the time? In any case. The first episode of the show was amazing. We will continue trucking with it. I hope it doesn’t sound quite like… TV? A show like Game of Thrones looks like a movie. The MCU is also shown. But this is like TV. That’s not all bad – I’ve found the witcher The show was looking a bit out of the TV, too. But for a show that Amazon spent a lot of cash on, it sometimes felt cheap. Very shiny too. still. I’m here at the moment.

Maya and the three On Netflix it was great. I mean it’s a kids show so I guess I should say flippin’ cool or something. whatever. But it’s nine episodes, standalone, one season. Funny and amazing battle scenes and lots of heart and suspense.

also caught shang chi, which I liked a lot too, but it’s hard not to feel a little overwhelmed in the standard MCU origin story arc. This did some new stuff, which I loved, and the first half of the movie is absurdly electric, with some of the best martial arts fight scenes imaginable. The second half swings a little bit into CGI fantasyland, and the movie explodes into some pretty big moments—the moments that MCU films usually excel at articulating (meaning, those moments where everyone seems defeated, the champ/raleigh, the music swells, whoa, oh my goodness, my feelings). , whatever). And it’s hard not to think, “Wow, I guess I wanted Xialing to be the protagonist in this? Or at least equal?” Still, it’s pretty cool, and it’s eminently re-watchable.

I want to be more interested in the new Spider Man A movie but not that much? I find the Tom Holland movies to be a blast but do a lot of work to make Spider-Man not about Spider-Man. The first two felt like they were really the Iron Man dealing with shit, and then this one might be too much Doctor Strange. I love the idea of the multiverse clashing, and I guess when I see it, I’ll happily pee in my pants, but right now I can’t summon the excitement or nostalgia about trying to mix these things up in a way that’s a compelling feeling and not like snatching nostalgia.

what am I I did Like a lot of Netflix products The hardest they fell, Damn. It’s got style for miles, this movie, and the players are electric in it. It’s fun from start to finish. Great Western. alternative imitation. Give Jonathan Majors more roles. more! more. More than that, I said. *shakes tv*

I read an excellent book – Alma Katsu enthusiasm. fucking terrifying. A horrific slice of historical horror. I remember how good a writer she is. Not out yet. April, I think. I’m going to do a great limited series, Ala Midnight Mass. And with this book, I think I’m officially closed off to the infused publicity at the moment. I need time to do some research work as well as enjoy reading. (Not that propaganda isn’t fun to read. But it’s different than just being able to pick up a book from the library and go to town.)

My child just read Amira and Hamza: War to Save the World by Samira Ahmed, and before that, The Ghosts team read by Claribel Ortega. Loved them both if you need a good medium score for your little ones. Or yourself, I won’t judge.

Thanksgiving is coming. Pumpkin pie is bullshit but I get one anyway. (I make pie, but only at Christmas.) Apple pie is the true ruler of our home, and it’s the greatest pie out there. Although I would be willing to hear your opinions on your favorite choice of pie. And turkeys are mostly nonsense. I’ll grill a chicken instead. The roast chicken looks really tough, and then you do it, and it was simple and amazing, and it’s also no turkey.

Although the real game is rib meat, that’s what I make for Christmas.

Have you seen this Terribleminds 2021 gift guide? Well done. Gifts for writers and beyond.

I think that’s it for now.

See you next week. in your nightmare.

where there is no that.
